The delicate oval frame gives an elegant look to this card.

Also the baby pram made out of cardstock makes it perfect for a birth anouncement of a baby boy.

You could make one for a girl using the pink theme just the same way.

This is a tea bag folded greeting card.

I used gold paint for sponge painting the background .The rosette is made using printed tea bag papers.

Border stickers are used for embellishing the card.

I used shimmer paper, paper with mettalic designs and matt finish red paper.

Best part about iris folding is that you can use any kind of papers as long as they are thin.

Making the delicate frame for this iris folding design was a challenge but i enjoyed this ...

Its very different and most importantly i even painted the strips of paper that i used here which is what makes it stand apart from others and i am sure anyone would be fascinated with the look of it...

The striped design on the bag makes it even better...

Parchment greeting cards

History of Parchment Craft.
Parchment craft is the ancient art of embossing, perforating and cutting with special tools, on parchment paper, to create lacy designs. It developed on the continent, mainly in Holland and became popular in the U.K. a few years ago.
As tools and materials vary in different parts of the world, although the basics remain the same.

I made this cat in the basket blue parchment craft card, this was intresting but also very time consuming as this craft involves a lot of intricate details.

But i enjoyed this as the end result is worthwhile!

Parchment craft is expensive as specific papers and tools are required for this craft but the effect that one can acheive is beautiful and most unique.

The green butterfly design is also a nice card for any occasion ...

Gold ink gives a rich look to the card.

Chocolates... Do you believe this is Quilling?

This project was made by one of my student....But looks amazing as we both had great fun working towards it. Once you know a few basic shapes you could possibly make endless variations .Each one can use thier own imagination to explore new ideas of decoration on the chocolates.Basic shapes are circle, square, rectangle,oval, dome and diamond.

You could use different shades of brown, off white and beige to resemble chocolates.

But final result... these look so attractive that one could easily mistaken them for real ones!

Tea bag folding

This is a unique cardmaking technique.

This wonderful art originated in Holland. The person who invented it was worrying about a birthday card for her sister started folding the tea bag envelope and thats how Tea bag folding came into existence.

Now there are specific papers available for this craft.

Its a relaxing hobby, u could decorate photo albums, scrapbook pages , decorate envelopes and also make greeting cards.There are endless number of articles that you can make using tea bag folding.

" Quilling" provides a soothing, repititive action which calms and relaxes.Paper Quilling is a relaxing hobby which is easy to learn.Basic materials for quillers are always at hand.

Paper is everywhere, all that you need other than paper is glue and you can make finished pieces of quilling in just a few minutes though bigger items would require more time.

The best part of quilling is that it is versatile.

One can create wall frames, decorate boxes,paper bags, make 3 D characters, jewelry, and most popular of all greeting cards.

Its hard to believe sometimes that such a simple technique could create something so fascinating.

Quillings can be simple,elaborate, colourful, classy and appealing to all ages .

Paper quilling is based on the same principles as the centuries old art of gold and silver filigree.

Paper quilling requires expertise in only a few basic shapes,with coils being the most important part.Every craft needs practise- so does paper quilling.

Most quilling is done using paper strips 3mm wide.It can be very challenging using paper strips in different widths.

the variation of widths in a design can create very intresting effects.

Ultimately it is the length of the strip which determines the size of the coil.

You may find that using thinner strips of paper will lead to smaller and finer designs which look more delicate.

Quilling is usually very fine work as the basic shapes are small.

Paper quilling is an exciting hobby and you could make a lot of things actually with some very basic materials.

Today , there are modern tools available for quilling, most techiques are old but could be combined with new ideas.

You could design your owm patterns or could experiment with different techniques.

I enjoy quilling for my own pleasure and feel great to have the opportunity to share this craft with others as i run regular classes quilling and experience immense joy in doind so!

PUNCH CRAFT

Punch craft is an art that is very intresting to learn and is the most delightful thing to receive .From greeting cards, gift tags to wall frames the possibilities are endless.
But is great to possess such beautiful artwork as its one of its kind.

Punch craft is an expensive craft as it is necessary to have the punches. But you could start with a few designs initially and slowly build up a collection.
Alternatively you could even buy cut-outs that are available with us.

Many new punches are available now. Punches are an investment but its enjoyable to make your own greeting cards as these are unique and special.

Paper Quilling tool

Various tools are are available .

The best tool to use is the one with a fine slit, and the slit should be big enough to accomodate the width of paper you wish to quill.

It is important for the paper to fit snugly in the slit so that it remains in position when you are about to roll.

Its good to have a number of tools for quilling so do not discard any tool thinking that you don't need it.

Its better to keep it as you may be glad of it when you want to make roses or such things.

Some people use no tools at all but simply roll the papers in thier fingers.

There is an art to roll withou a tool , but its not easy!

But i think its always better to use the tool to get the most attractive results!

Few tips for Paper quilling

Before you beging quilling, take a closer look at the quilling strip. Take some time to feel the difference between the smooth side and the other side.

Avoid rolling too tightly if you are rolling for the first time.The rolled paper will expand to its natural size .Practise using 5mm strips before using 3mm or finer strips.

Useful tip:

when making shapes, always pinch your coil at the glued end.

This disguises the joined end and looks better.

I made these greeting cards using tea bag papers available specially for this craft.I enjoyed making them as once you know the basic folds you could create many variations by using various embellishments like punched shapes, stickers or small decorative stones and much more....

These woderful butterflies are quite intresting to make.You can make them in anumber of ways but i like the " paper bead " used for the body section.There are unlimited number of colors that can be used.I have made these to decorate a photo frame and bigger ones made in the same way for a paper bag.

You may also use these to decorate a gift box or a pen holder.
